Log Slice Nature 'Clock'
Large natural log slice clock – perfect for outdoor learning and time-telling practice!
This beautiful educational resource features a large log slice (approximately 25 cm) with numbers permanently burned into the wood to create a rustic clock face. It's ideal for outdoor areas, forest schools, classrooms, and nurseries.
Perfect for:
- Teaching time-telling in a hands-on, natural way
- Outdoor learning environments and forest schools
- Early years classrooms and nurseries
- Nature-based play and education
- Sensory and tactile learning experiences
Handcrafted in the Peak District: Each log slice is freshly sawn from responsibly sourced wood right here in the Peak District. I originally made one of these for my own children using an angled piece of wood, which worked beautifully!
Natural variations: Because these are natural wood products, each piece is unique. They may not always be perfectly round and can have slight imperfections or loose bark – all part of their authentic, rustic character. I always select the best pieces for you.
Care & maintenance: As with all natural wood, log slices can split or lose bark over time. Store in a cool, well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight. To seal and preserve (especially for children's use), linseed oil is a popular and safe choice. These are relatively fresh-cut, so they may contain some residual moisture.
Wood types: I use a variety of wood species. If you need something specific, please get in touch before ordering and I'll do my best to help.
